A bit of fun and trivia! Chad, a bartender at MCT, participated in the 48-hour Film project (http://www.48hourfilm.com/)  in 2008.  Chad and his crew used Mock Crest after hours as the filming location.  Here’s a link to their entry and group winner, Buck Wild, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X17HN66DSME

Stop by and say hello, and let him know you saw his film!

Suburban Slim and Donna and the Side Affects

Suburban Slim starts your weekend on Friday night at 9 p.m. at Mock Crest Tavern on September 7th.

Phil  played the ukulele during his childhood years, and then switched to guitar, pulling support from his older brother. He grew up in Northern California, and recorded his first album at the age of 15. As the years passed, he toured in Oregon and later relocated to Eugene where he stayed for 15 years before moving to Portland seeking a wider audience and music scene. Not long after, he released three CD’s of original tunes.

Suburban Slim is available to hear on YouTube.

Donna and the Side Affects begin playing at 9 p.m. on Saturday night. Members of the band include Donna Jose who sings, plays guitar, piano and the flute. Also Brad Price plays lead guitar/vocals, and Dale Turnbull plays bass and vocals.

Oregon Public Broadcasting featured Donna on Art Beat,  and NPR’s Car Talk played her “Driving” single . Donna’s also recorded three full-length CDs, “Rhymes of Passion”, “On the Road With Buddha’s Cat”, and “Spindrift” available on CDbaby.com.
