Finn Doxie and the Adequates

Come on in and join Mock Crest Tavern in welcoming Finn Doxie Friday, January 31st, at 9:00 p.m. They bring something a bit different with an alternative sound that features an electric harp.

Finn Doxie

Finn Doxie began performing in 2011 around the Portland and surrounding area. Their frequent visits to the Hillsboro venue ‘Primrose & Tumbleweeds’ garnered them a write-up in the March issue of the Washington County Review. And more recently, Finn Doxie had the great opportunity of representing Portland at the Bite of Oregon on the Oregon Lottery’s Garden stage during the 2013 festival.

This duet puts their unique twist on modern pop and alternative hits by combining percussive guitar with the Celtic harp. Utilizing their vocal harmonies and foot-percussion allows the audience to have the  big band experience. Their musical styles cover energetic, beat-driven indie-pop and expressive and intimate ballads.

Members Include:

  • Rob “Bodhi” Wolff – lead vocals, guitar, octave mandolin, foot percussion
  • Tyger Bailey – Celtic Harp, vocals

The duet injects their signature style into favorites by bands like The Killers, The Verve, Coldplay, All-American Rejects, Jack White, Imagine Dragons, Blue October, and Snow Patrol.

They offer a few tunes on their website. My easy favorite is their performance of The Verve’s hit “Bittersweet Symphony”! Hop on over and visit them. They have some great videos!

The Adequates perform at 9:00  p.m Saturday evening, February 1st! The band’s music includes songs from  the 60′s, 70′s and 80′s. Stapleton’s vocals and guitar shine through with songs from the Stones, The Clash, and others.

Members include:

  • Don Henson plays piano, drums and vocals
  • Mike Cheddar offers his expertise on bass
  • Peter Blowing on harp

Have a great week and we’ll see ya there!
