It’s Open Mic Jam again so join us at Mock Crest Tavern this Thursday, January 30th, at 8:00 p.m. with Randy Yearout and Tracey Fordice from Tracey Fordice and the 8-Balls.
Most people know Randy Yearout on Guitars and Vocals with the 8-Balls, but he also founded the North Portland band NoPoMoJo. Known for his multi-instrumentalist and songwriting talents, Randy has a knack for witty and catchy songs in a variety of musical styles intermingling the roots and boundaries of blues, folk, jazz, rock, and country.
Tracey Fordice (formerly Tracey Bunch) rocks a beautiful, powerful and unique voice, as well as plays the piano and writes songs. Her talents are a blend of creativity that extends above and beyond most women in blues currently performing throughout the Portland blues scene.
And, with those two kicking off Open Mic night, you can’t go wrong!
Mock Crest Tavern has some great beers on rotating tap. Check out:
- Ecliptics Filament Winter IPA
- HUB’s Survival Stout
Here’s a bit more about Ecliptic Brewing and its history in Oregon.
“Ecliptic Brewing is a venture from John Harris, an Oregon craft brewing pioneer. The name Ecliptic symbolizes our yearly path around the sun on planet Earth. This happens to be a connection between Harris’s two passions – brewing and astronomy – as well as his philosophy on experimentation.” Brewpublic.com
The Filament Winter IPA is a pale beer with Munich and Caramel malts that creates a rich malt with a touch of honey flavor. It offers an abundance of Crystal, Chinook and Centennial hops combined to lend spicy, citrus hop notes.
Have a great week and we’ll see ya there!
