Open Mic Night With…

openmic (1)Mock Crest Tavern is hosting Open Mic Night and this time it’s with Johnnie Ward! Come on in this Thursday evening, December 5th, the fun begins at 8:30 p.m.

If you are new to Mock Crest Tavern, then here’s a little background information on Johnnie.

Johnnie Ward, originally from Portland, has performed with bands including the PH Phactor Jug Band, and opened for Moby Grape, The Grateful Dead, Pentangle, The Doors, and several other famous groups. Not only was Johnnie a part of the  movement that resurrected the blues venue in Portland in 1970, but was the first act to play The White Eagle, which was the first post-war Portland Blues club.

Johnnie has won the Muddy Award and is also a well-known elder statesman of Portland’s blues and jazz scene. Johnnie’s lifelong commitment to this classic American music precedes him every where he plays.
