Claes Returns and Reviews of Mock Crest Tavern

Claes Almroth returns to Mock Crest Tavern Thursday, September 12th at 8:30 p.m.

Claes attributes much of his style and sound to the good ol’ days of the “Underground” FM rock radio where he became familiar with Paul Betterfield, Charlie Musselwhite, BB King, Muddy Waters and Robert Johnson.

He relocated to Oregon from California during the 70’s and continued his journey and love for music. In the 80’s he moved to Portland, and today, he plays  in a number of bands, where he sings lead and harmony vocals; plays the keyboard, and harmonica, as well as writes and records his own music.

Bands he performs with include:

  • The Blueprints
  • Claes and Sons
  • Reverb Brothers
  • The New Iberians

He also plays with Johnny Ward and the Papas occasionally.

“The fried pickles were yummy and served with a side of thick blue cheese dip. The menu said they make their own hummus and it was quite good with bit of a kick. The two servers who helped us were excellent.” Timothy, Portland, Oregon

“I love you, Mock Crest.
You’re like an old friend that I don’t talk to often but who still remembers the details. Good job.” Brittany, Portland, Oregon

“Mockcrest is the perfect neighborhood bar. The service is always friendly and prompt. The atmosphere is terrific. It’s one of those bars where, when you look around, you imagine it could be anywhere in the country, any time in the past 70 years.” Camille, Portland, Oregon

Hop on in and write your own great review!

Have a great week, and we’ll see ya there!
