All you need to do is bring a photo, old love letter or card from your ex, and feel the freedom as you send them through the shredder! The best part? After you shred, you get a free drink.

For those that choose to, celebrate Valentine’s Day with Claes and Friends at Mock Crest Tavern. They perform at 8:30 p.m on Thursday, February 14th.

Not only does Claes play with Claes and Friends, he belongs to several groups including The Reverb Brothers. They’re an offshoot of “Johnny Ward and The Eagle Ridin’ Papas”. Doug Marx and Claes started the band when they left The Papas, first as a duo, then a trio and eventually growing into a six piece band. The band’s foundation lies within jug band music and 1930’s jazz, but also  includes New Orleans R&B, Swamp Rock, Rock and Roll, Country and Soul.

Some of Claes’s major musical touchstones include, Slim Harpo, JJ Cale, Muddy Waters, Al Green, Doug Sahm, The Rolling Stones, The Band, Percy Mayfield, Wilco, Ray Charles, Thelonious Monk, Little Walter, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Booker T & the MG’s just to name a few.

Claues used to own a record store on Hawthorne called Reverb Music, and is now selling his inventory online at ebay and several clients.

Mirror Pond is available on tap right now. It’s brewed by Deschutes Brewery in Bend, Oregon. This full-bodied Pale Ale is tawny in color. It has a distinctive, lingering hop flavor attained by adding large quantities of Cascade hops throughout the brewing process. It has an ABV of 5%.

Have a great week, and we’ll see ya there!
