The Holy Child and More at Mock Crest

15070789-3d-happy-new-year-2013Happy New Year!! I hope everyone had a safe and fun time bringing in 2013. Mock Crest Tavern has plenty of performances and events planned for 2013 beginning with The Holy Child performing Thursday, January 3rd at 8:30 p.m.

The Holy Child originated in Los Angeles and began playing music in October of 2009. They’re a family band, and consist of siblings and best friends.  Their music style blends a bluesy sound with Soul and R&B influences, and an upbeat funky sound. They will bring you to your feet in no time.

  • Fernando Sanchez
  • Eric Ridley
  • Johanna Alarcon
  • Robert Alarcon

The Holy Child’s music is compared to Stevie Wonder, Otis Redding and Ray Charles with a heavy R&B sound. I enjoyed several of their tunes available online. Feel free to check them out on Reverbnation.

Suburban Slim, returns to Mock Crest Tavern Friday, January 4th, at 9 p.m. This multi-award winning guitarist, singer and songwriter is a Mock Crest Tavern favorite . He recorded his first album at the age of 15! Check out Suburban Slim and  his tunes on YouTube.

Another MCT favorite returns to the tavern Saturday evening. Donna and the Side Affects begin their performance at 9 p.m.

  • Donna Jose sings, plays guitar, piano and flute
  • Brad Price plays lead guitar and vocals
  • Dale Turnbull plays bass and vocals

Donna has recorded three full-length CDs, “Rhymes of Passion”, “On the Road With Buddha’s Cat”, and “Spindrift” available for purchase at

Donna writes original music, and her love for singing and playing is evident.
